Finally some live footage of Patti's performances from the 50s and 60s. Most of these selections were a regular part of Patti's club performances. BORN TO LOSE from Patti's 1964 Columbia LP "Love After Midnight"has the same great arrangement. UNCHAINED MELODY, WHAT NOW MY LOVE and ON A WONDERFUL DAY LIKE TODAY were never released in any form in the USA. They were part of a live album recorded during a Japanese concert tour in 1965. The LP titled PATTI PAGE LIVE IN TOKYO! is undoubtedly Patti's most collectible LP. Selection 12 has the wrong title (THE FIRST TIME WE WENT WALTZING). This selection is actually DAYS OF THE WALTZ, a late 1964 Patti Page Columbia single which immediately preceded HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE. It has only seen US LP release on a Columbia Record Club members' premium lp titled HEADLINERS '65. WITH YOU ON MY MIND, the Liberace medley and others are from Patti's 50s TV shows. There are loads of marvelous performances from THE BIG RECORD and THE PATTI PAGE OLDSMOBILE SHOW just waiting to be digitally remastered for DVD release.
This DVD is a great start! (for those looking for some of Patti's early 50s hits, check out THE PATTI PAGE VIDEO SONGBOOK).
