The storyline is simple, cool pop singer meets innocent and beautiful village girl they marry and things go awry when her talent outshines his. The songs in the movie are superb S D Burman at his best. The DVD has a song selection with English subtitles so English-speaking viewers can interpret the songs. I had been singing one for years without really knowing what the lyrics meant at all. Now I know!
The saris worn by the female cast are a delight to behold so any sari enthusiasts will find this a wonderful source of beautiful saris. This is a movie that does not fade with time. It is eminently watchable and I know I will be watching it again and again!Abhimaan
