His almost unearthly ability to use "the voice" -- to get it right on the first take -- and to write songs that broke every formal model or mode is clear, both in the clips of his performances and in testimony from other musicians. If you have ever enjoyed Roy Orbison, or would like to be turned on to a personality you had no idea was behind his music, you'll enjoy this excellent documentary.
