(More customer reviews)Like the Tom Waits-inspired soundtrack, this morbid play brought to the screen is a true downer, with all the characters playing losers, lushes and lost souls. Paul Sorvino is especially good as the bartender with the "Joisey" accent. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith has a small role and plays it well. Desperate dreams, longing for the idealized past and a sense of sad hopelessness are the themes here. Watch it if you're in the mood to be depressed.
