(More customer reviews)Roy Rogers began his Hollywood career as guitarist and back-up singer in The Sons of the Pioneers. In those days he was known as Leonard Slye. By the late 1930's Slye had reinvented himself as a leading man. This small collection of mid-career movies showcases the singing and acting talents of the man known as "The King of the Cowboys," Roy Rogers.
SYNOPSES:
"My Pal Trigger" was Roy's favorite film. It tells the story of how Roy acquired his famous horse.
"Under Nevada Skies" is an equal mix of music and action. Roy investigates a murder and a stolen heirloom-- one that shows the location of uranium deposits.
"King Of The Cowboys" is a WW II-era espionage film. Roy spies on some dangerous saboteurs and nearly gets himself killed in the process.
"Roll on Texas Moon" is about a trumped-up feud between cattlemen and sheep ranchers. This tactic is a subterfuge so that a ranch can be seized. Roy gets involved to try to prevent an all-out range war.
The ROY ROGERS 20 MOVIE PACK (4 DVD) is larger assemblage of similar movies (at a great low price).
