This 42 minute color video was shot with at two high quality video cameras. It consists of one entire set of Ms. Mercer at Cleos. The tape never stops, so it is exactly the same experience one would have had being at the club that night. The quality of the audio and video is first rate. The 17 songs are all supurb. I just finished watching this tape and am very strongly tempted to watch it again as soon as I finish writing this. Watching this tape helps me understand better why Frank Sinatra said of her, quote, "Mabel Mercer taught me everything I know".

Live from Cleo's in New York CityThe vocal artistry of Mabel Mercer is timeless, lovely and heartbreaking. Her unique interpretations give new meaning and dimension to some of the greatest songs ever written. "Mabel Mercer taught me everything I know," said Frank Sinatra in McCall's Magazine. Others who were inspired by her and attended here performances continually were Nat "King" Cole, Billy Holiday, Margaret Whiting and Cole Porter.HER CAREER IN EUROPE: Mabel Mercer was born in Staffordshire, England in 1900 and left a Manchester convent school at the age of 14 to join her aunt in a vaudeville and musical hall tour of Britain and the Continent. Better known as a dancer, she later developed her singing talents and by the 1930's she became the toast of Paris, where she introduced her inimitable style of cabaret singing while beguiled such steadfast admirers as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Cole Porter and the Prince of Wales.ON TO AMERICA: The outbreak of WWII brought her to New York and a now legendary series of supper club, night club engagements, and recordings which have become collectors' items. Among the clubs she made her own were Le Ruban Bleu, Tony's, her own Byline Room, and two years at the RSVP. Then it was on to the Carlyle and the St. Regis Hotels, concert triumphs, and record-breaking appearances across America. Mabel Mercer died April 20, 1984.SELECTIONS: 1) That's For Me 2) Blame It On My Youth 3) My Lover is a Wanderer 4) Get Well Soon 5) If Love Were All 6) Wait Till Your Sixty-Five 7) Clouds 8) Experiment 9) Being Green 10) More I Can Not Wish You 11) Isn't He Adorable 12) The Times Of Your Life 13) Trouble Comes 14) Some Fine Day 15) It Amazes Me 16) Remind Me 17) It's All Right With Me
